Terrain instability database, Georgia

Application provides access to the terrain instability database. The database content is being created in the project Evaluation susceptibility to slumping in mountainous parts of Georgia, the CGS supported by the Czech Development Aid Agency. The database contains targeted objects and its description, including classification, it's map situation and attached file such as photo documentation,

CGS Project No. 682000: Evaluation of landslide susceptibility in the mountainous parts of Georgia on the example of endangered Settlements, international roads and energy conduits in Dusheti Municipality, 2014-2016, supported by the Czech Development Agency,.
The project aim is to increase the ability of the geological section NEA prevent threats stemming from the slope instabilities in the target area, mainly due to the fact that he can identify the areas prone to sliding on the newly acquired knowledge and experience in field research and prioritization of slope instabilities, modeling in GIS and active use of the new database, slope instabilities, which will be part of the project adapted for use in conditions of Georgia. This capability finds application not only for regional planning and development in the region, but also identifies places where it is preferable to start with preventive measures so as not existing damaged infrastructure and prevent loss of population in affected mountainous areas. Finally, it will be in connection with the installation of a pilot monitoring system of the Georgian side passed theoretical and practical knowledge on the use of modern surveillance systems and their connection to the early warning system.
